Directions by Light Rail

From DFW International Airport

Your goal will be to get to the DART station of Terminal A at the DFW airport. DART is the light rail service that connects DFW Airport to the rest of the city of Dallas. https://www.dart.org/riding/stations/dfwairportstation.asp

If you are already in Terminal A, you are in the right place. If your flight disembarks at Terminal B, C, D or E of the airport you'll have to take the "Skylink" shuttle train to get to Terminal A. Skylink is a free inter-terminal rail system that operates WITHIN the SECURE area of the airport when you arrive to DFW airport for flight connections. https://www.dfwairport.com/connect/index.php (As opposed to the "Terminal Link" system. This is a shuttle bus system that operates OUTSIDE the secure area of the airport. Terminal link is to be used if you ARRIVE to the airport in order to take a flight that LEAVES DFW airport.) Terminal A is the ONLY terminal that is served both by Skylink and DART. Skylink operates 24 hrs day and arrives every 2 minutes.

Once you come out of your gate, look for signs at the airport displaying the Skylink logo as shown below. Proceed up to the escalators that will take you up to the train platform.

Signs to direct you to the DART are not well marked. Proceed towards the signs that say "Ground Transportation". You will then see signs for the DART station that direct you to the LOWER level of Terminal A. Proceed to the elevator, and go to the lower level of Terminal A. As you exit the terminal building take a RIGHT and follow the sidewalk towards  the end of the terminal building. (refer to the yellow dot on the map shown above.) You will see an outdoor walkway that leads to the right and takes you to the DART station.

The only DART train line available at DFW airport is called the "ORANGE" line and DFW Airport is the last stop on this line. https://www.dart.org/riding/dfwairport.asp You can buy tickets from kiosks on the platform. You can also buy tickets by downloading a phone app: https://www.dart.org/gopass/ Tickets cost $2.50 (peak) or $1.75 (off-peak) and will be valid for unlimited use for the proceeding 2 hrs. There are 2 tracks at the station and you can board either train that you see waiting for departure. (Tip: The CENTER car of each section of the train has a flat loading floor. This is useful in order to bring your wheeled luggage onboard with ease. Look for symbols outside the train car with the International Symbol of Access.)

Check posts at the station for the schedule. The DART rail station is less than 2.5 miles away and this trip should take less than 10 minutes.
